Hi Nancy! My husband and I are now back from China, and I wanted to let you know we had a great time! Thank you for all of your hard work on our behalf, especially on such short notice. The cruise through the Three Gorges was very nice and we enjoyed our time in Beijing very much, visited just about every tourist site there. Both of the guides that met us for tours (Cindy in Wuhan and Kathy in Chongqing) were excellent, very knowledgeable, friendly, and very good English speakers. We enjoyed their company immensely. Dear Victor: It was nice to get your e-mail. We had a great time in China. The Qiran hotel was adequate and had a good breakfast. It was just a little far from most destinations of interest. The staff at the desk was afraid to cash some of our travelers checks because they had got wet in the rain. So we had to go to the Bank of China, where they were easily cashed. The airport to hotel transfers worked well. We found a nice restaurant near the hotel and were please to learn that nice seafood dinners in china are very reasonably priced. Taxi cab fares were also a bargain when compared to many countries. The train to Xian was great and so was the Orient hotel. The train ride to Chongqing was not quite as good because it took thirty hours. A passenger that we met told us that a better way to go, would have been to take the train to Chengdu, and then take a bus to Chongquing. These negative parts were outweighed by the beautiful scenery we saw. The rice paddies and other farms were spectacular. It made the long train ride worthwhile. The cruise ship, Yangtze Paradise, was excellent. The food and entertainment were very good. I was not sure of the expected tipping of our river guide. I asked him, but received no information. I gave him 350Y, but that may not have been enough because I thought he seemed disappointed. The Pacific Luck Hotel in Shanghai was excellent. We enjoyed our stay there very much. Shanghai is a very exciting city. We found many good shopping bargains in men's suits, and jade and pearl jewelry for women. We took an evening boat ride down the Bundt River that was very enjoyable. The train ride back to Beijing was very pleasant. The trip was very enjoyable and I hope we can return one day and visit Guilin. I can give a very good recommendation to anyone wishing to visit China.

There were six of us, five women and one man. You were our guide and your relaxed attitude and calm manner was such a relief from the former hectic schedule we had experienced. You were so refreshing. I know that you have a busy schedule and don't have a lot of time but we would like to hear from you as to whether you can exchange the gifts Beverly purchased for her daughter. If you let her know how much the service carfare, and any incidental expenses will be, she will be glad to pay them. If you cannot do this for her it would be helpful if you could send us the name and address of the store and she might be able to deal directly with the store. Anything you can do would be helpful. Hi Paul, My family and I thank you for being our main guide through our China trip. We enjoyed the trip very much. I also liked having a local tour guide through each city. They were very knowledgeable about each area and its history. Thank you for setting that up for us. I especially like learning about the three gorges project and its implication to China. I also enjoyed seeing Guilin and Xian again and comparing them with my impression of them when I visited those cities in 1979. We also thank you for setting up baby sitting service for our two whiney kids.I don't think they would have done well in the heat and humidity all day. Besides, they rather enjoyed the freetime and swimming pool when available at the hotel. Hope the trip was enjoyable for you as it was for us. Hello Paul! It was a great trip and again we want to thank you for making all the arrangements! If you could be patient, I need to be at work in order to download the form for authorization for payment. I will be back at work on Monday, August 6th and I will sign the form and fax back to you. I wanted to write to you to tell you how much we enjoyed the trip to Guilin and Yangshuo. Our guide was "Lisa" and our driver was Mr. Bai. Both of them did an excellent job of getting us to the right places, working around the weather, and making our trip pleasurable. Victor, Ruttana and I truly enjoyed our whirlwind tour of Beijing. Everything went very smoothly and we had a great time. Thanks for the great planning. My suggestions are to have the tourguide also provide some suggestions of what to do in the evenings, after the planned activities are over… We were very fortunate that our hotel was very near some shopping areas so we were able to buy souvenirs and spend our free time wisely. I would also recommend adding in a Tianamen Square at night mini tour to agendas where it fits. Since the lights stay on until 10pm, it probably fits a lot of agendas. We stumbled across it on the way home for the Beijing Opera and my friend and I took a taxi back because it was so beautiful and moving. I am very glad the I didn't miss it! But don't worry… we had a great time and I look forward to visiting China again in the future! Dear Paul: We are back from our fabulous trip to China, and I want to thank you very much for your wonderful service. China is the ultimate storehouse of history and wonders, and your careful planning and arrangements highlighted these aspects very well. Our children benefited greatly from this trip -- it opened their eyes to the great history of China and a deeper understanding of their heritage. The hotel accommodations were great, and food was overall good. But oboe all, it was your knowledgeable and friendly tour guides who made our trip incredibly enjoyable and educational. We would like to thank, in particular, our Xian tour guide, Robin for his enthusiasm and great story telling. He was perfect!!!
