Dear Elaine, Just to let you know that we had a great time and a most memorable visit to your great country. It was quite outstanding. The river trip was most enjoyable and great fun. The staff were, without exception, very charming and most helpful.Needless to say, the trip throught the Gorges, and lesser Gorges was a great highlight. We made many friends. At Chongqing we were met by David who was quite excellent and very funny, he took us on a very good sight-seeing trip. His English was exremely good. At Yichang we were met by Mr Tsai who was very helpful and showed us some of the sights. We much enjoyed Xian and all of the ancient sites and museums which were very good. We are thinking of doing another trip, perhaps next year, when we will go to Shanghai and travel on the river to Nanjing. With warmest regards Geoffrey

The boat was very basic indeed, as Angela already said, but it suited perfectly in our travel itinarary, and offered good vallue for money. Overall, did you enjoy your trip? Why? I did enjoy my trip very much, especially because I was able to see my son in South Korea. The trip to China was very enlightening and exchiting, as well. The flight was wonderful, the hotel exactly as described and very close to all the sites, Beijing was so interesting. 2. Your tour: a. Were the arrangements satisfactory? Yes, the flight arrangements were exactly as described, our driver met us at the airport, the hotel was beautiful and in a very convenient location. The mattresses on the beds were a bit hard but, overall, the stay was wonderful. b.Was it what you expected, and if not, how did it differ from your expectations? Actually, Beijing was much more cosmopolitan than I expected and the subway system is wonderful and very easy to navigate. The tours were wonderful, very interesting and challenging (at The Great Wall). We were very, very pleased. c. In hindsight, is there anything you wish you had known in advance? Ah, the traffic was very difficult to manover and I would definately not recommend driving. I would like to know the dollar amount I could bring into the United States. I would also like to know that the Great Wall is a very steep climb and it will take several hours. I think that would be the only change I would make...taking more time at the Great Wall. I would also suggest a tour of the wonderful night life around the Hutongs. Also, add some interesting highlights of the Olympics, including the ability to purchase items associated with the Olympics. d. Any unpleasant surprise? No unpleasant surprises at all from the tour. e. Were any problems resolved quickly and easily? We had no problems. We left a hat at a restaurant and they quickly took us back the next day to retrieve. f. What was the best thing about your tour? Being able to experience the Chinese culture and see the amazing history. We loved the people and the city. The food was very interesting, especially when we went on our own to out of the way locations and just pointed to things on the menu. g, Is there anything else that we should have done, before or during your tour? The tour was exceptional, the accomodations fantastic, the food wonderful, the guide and drive were magnificant! 3. Would you like to visit China again (or if you live here, would you like to do more traveling in China)? Yes Why? Next time, I want to visit the countryside and smaller locations. I want to visit Tibet and western China in the next year and I will be contacting you for travel arrangements. No Why? 4. Would you book through us for your next trip to China? Yes Why? Your bookings were clear and precise. Your communication was clear. The drivers and car were on time and took us to all the locations. There was no push to buy something at each location. No Why? 5. What is your overall impression of our service? ?Why? I have traveled extensively and I find your services to be some of the best I have used anywhere in the world. I have given your name to many business associates and friends. Many people are cautious in traveling to a locale wher they do not speak the language or understand the culture but your guide explained everything to us very clearly. 6. Would you recommend us to others who are coming to China? Yes Why? Yes, I have already send your contact information to many associates who are considering traveling to China. No Why? 7. How would you describe your trip to China and the overall experience in a few sentences? My son and I had a wonderful trip to Beijing. We saw everything we had researched. We were able to experience some of the ambience of the city. I felt very safe in Beijing, unlike other cities around the world. The food was varied and interesting. The markets and subways were very easy to navigate. There were many street vendors but they were also very pleasant. I was not accustomed to the number of people and the difference in 'boundaries' between our cultures. What I mean by 'boundaries' is that, in the United States, we have an unspoken boundary between one person and another of about 60 cm in every direction. It was difficult to become accustomed to people moving very close to one another when they spoke. In our culture, that is considered a threatening move so it took a bit of getting used to. We also don't eat dogs and we found dog on the menu at many restaurants. 8. Any suggestions on how we could improve our service or the products we offer? You have a wonderful tour service. Some people only want to see the main sites of a city and stay in the very 'universal' places. My son and I like to visit smaller restaurants, wider locations around the city and see some of the night life so that might be something you could offer. 9. Dear Angela I am sorry it has taken me so long to reply to your email. Our trip to China really was so successful. Shanghai was very exciting. Talia visited Fudan University and is probably going to apply to study there next year. The guide Susie, who took us round was very good. She was friendly, knowledgeable and very interesting. We liked her very much. She really did more than was necessary to make sure everything was going well for us. We appreciated that when Arik was sick she arranged that our tour could be postponed for a day. The hotel was excellent (and the breakfast buffet was hot enough!) It had great views from the room and we could walk from the Bund and Nanjing Rd. We took the Maglev train to the airport when we left Shanghai. It was a great experience and some other visitors might enjoy it too, especially if there are children. We thought it was 40 yuan each if you had a plane ticket but it was only if it was a "paper" ticket not an eticket which we had, so we paid 50 yuan each which is a bit expensive but is good to do once and it is fast! Don't forget about the suggestion of a map of each city for your visitors ( it could be a hand drawn one) as we suggested to you. Showing tourist sites, hotels, ATMs & banks, supermarkets, markets, internet cafes, shopping areas etc So thank you again for all your help with our trip, we have many happy memories. Perfect.That is the only word to describe our China Highlights tour of Beijing, Chengde, Lhasa (with an unexpected and wonderful evening in Chengdu), Xian, and Luoyang. I found Yellow Mountain stunningly beautiful and Jerry was a perfect guide. My overnight train trip to Guilin was good fun and my time with Lisa on and around the Li River was also very beautiful. I realised that my trip would have been impossible without Jerry and Lisa to help. They made everything work and were friendly, helpful with excellent local knowledge. Dear Cheryl, Thank you for your enquiry. As stated in our evaluation response, we appreciated very much your efficiency in organising the tour, the tour itself which covered interesting aspects of the area we visited and Alex's friendly, courteous and informative guiding. Just a comment regarding when we came to Hong Kong. There is no need to go to the expense of taking a taxi from the airport to the hotel as the airport express train runs a very fast and inexpensive trip to Kowloon station (and other stations) and links with free transfer busses to major hotels. On return to the airport check-in can be done at the train station which made for a smooth departure. We will certainly consider using China Highlights for a future trip to China. Dear Karen, I wanted to thank you and to say I'm sorry we didn't stop by your office to visit. Guilin and Yangshuo were very interesting to see (if a little cold!) and Ken was an excellent guide. I do intend to return during a late harvest/autumn time and might even prefer to do some backpacking/biking through the area (after improving my mandarin skills!) The evening performances were beautifully done (I still think about the brother we heard ¨C it was very affecting) Thanks Paul Hebert
