Morgen, in rereading my journal of the trip, I was reminded of many interesting times and experiences. Overall, we all thought that China Highlights provided us with excellent service which enhanced our visit. I have recommended you and China Highlights to several friends already. I would not be surprised if you hear from some of them in the near future. As you might guess, I'm not a professional photographer by any stretch of the imagination however, I do have some photos that may be of interest to you. If so, I'll happily forward them to you. The best thing of my trip: Our favorite city was Guillin. This is a beautiful city with many things to offer. Our experience was enhanced tremendously by our guide, Grace. Guillin provided us with the most varied experiences and best food. Especially enjoyed the visit to Dragon's Backbone. The highlight here was of course the scenery, but I found the village fascinating. I would recommend more opportunities to get to know these people. 0ur group also enjoyed Suzhou and Michael,our guide. In Suzhou, one of our group was ill and Michael went out of his way to make sure she was taken care of. This is a big plus.

The guide assigned to me in Shanghai, Vivaldi, was outstanding. His knowledge of the history of China was great. His enthusiasm added to his guidance. I was interested in a particular site in Shanghai. I am Anglican Christian. The former Anglican Cathedral in Shanghai is presently being used as headquarters for the Three Persons Movement (general Protestant Church in China). I had read in our Church publications that it was being renovated by the government. I was interested in seeing it. Overnight Vivaldi looked up its location and made time to get me there and to see the exterior of the buildings. He is to be commended.

Hi Sunny Firstly a big thank you for your help organising the two-day trips we took. I found your service speedy and responsive, very professional and efficient and would certainly recommend it. Secondly, I have answered your specific questions below: The best thing: I was travelling independently which I enjoyed even if it was a little challenging at times. Suggestions to other travelers: I used the overnight trains between Shanghai and Beijing, and Beijing and Xian. I thought the train travel was excellent although the stations did not live up to the standards of the trains. We travelled in private sleepers and the train staff were very helpful and professional and the restaurant car was excellent. Regards Mike

1. The best thing about our trip was China as a whole, it is an amazing Country, the people are extremely friendly and helpful, there are so many fantastic things to see and experience. Every place is different and has its own special qualities. Anyone who is contemplating a trip to China should book now – they certainly would never be disappointed by this amazing Country and race.
2. There is absolutely nothing more that China Highlights could do to improve our trip. We can honestly say that we did not have one thing that we could complain about. Everything worked like clockwork and we were so well looked after. Each of the guides were exceptional, the transport was good, the hotels exceptional (a bowling alley in the hotel in Beijing), food etc etc. We would recommend China Highlights to any potential traveler in China. We met many people on our trip from different counties using different tour companies, and when we compared what our trip included as compared to there's - ours was far more organized, better hotels and better value for money.
3. There are so many sites in China that should not be missed such as The Great Wall, Summer Palace, Warriors, Yangtze, The Dam, Li River, Shanghai, Xian etc etc. Our tour of each of the places we visited covered all of the best attractions. Some of the things we added on were a boat cruise at night in Shanghai to see all the lights and also an acrobatic show which was outstanding. In Yangzhou we saw a water show, directed by the person who will be doing the opening ceremony for the Olympics, this was by far the most impressive show I have ever seen and definitely not to be missed if you are in Yangzhou.

We felt China Highlights exceeded our expectations in every regard. Starting with Sunny, who was so helpful in personalizing our itinerary. Then the memorable tour guides Sam (in Beijing) and driver Mr. Bai (the best driver in Beijing) to Sonan in Lhasa and driver Nema there. These two stood out for their very different but pleasing personalities. I also want to single out Helen in Xining for her professionalism. Every member of your staff was punctual, and always where they were supposed to be. They were all knowledgable and proud of their heritage. We really enjoyed the Shangbala in Lhasa--clean, friendly, English speaking (more or less)staff, quiet, with a very good breakfast. As two women traveling alone, we always felt safe everywhere in China and Tibet.

Comments about our trip:

1. Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, Summer Palace--all truly amazing, must see
2. Acrobatic Show--very enjoyable, highly recommend
3. Hiking the Great Wall-- the highlight of our trip. Hiked the Mutianyu section, will never forget this experience. Recommend skipping Badaling, and going to Mutianyu or Jinshanling
4. Terra Cotta Warriors--another awe inspiring must see in China!
5. Xian City Wall--very interesting, wished we had had time to bike it
6. Lhasa--loved it! Don't miss the Tibet Summit Fine Art Cafe for cheap internet, fantastic coffee, and super friendly staff. Be sure to get a massage at the Braile Without Borders school for the blind.
7. Potala Palace--8th wonder of the world. Don't miss.
8. Yangtze River Cruise--fun, comfortable, clean, great food, English speaking staff.

The services provided by China Highlights Tours were outstanding. We were very pleased with the guides and drivers, as well as their timeliness and their desire to provide even services which were outside of the scope of the tour.
