Dear Karen, I just wanted to let you know that we got back from Yangshuo into Guilin again today, and will be leaving for home first thing tomorrow morning. Unfortunately, we did not have a chance to go by your office to say hello. Maybe the next time? My husband and I had a wonderful trip, and the whole experience from the time that you have got in touch with us on the email to arrange our trip, till the end of our trip has been very well handled. Our assigned guide, Foster Liu, and the driver, Mr Chen, were both very good as well. We have provided our input in the survey form. Guilin and Yangshuo are two very beautiful cities, with a lot to offer tourists. Just wished there were not so many tourists! To be able to talk not just about the tourists sights, but about life in general. 2. What was the worst thing? We really did not have a bad experience. 3.How could China Highlights Travel have assisted you more? Everything was perfect. Even when we had some extra time, our guides were more than happy to show us other sights or shopping or anything we wanted to do.

There was a few things I liked about the trip. One was having everything in place so there was not much self planning needed. Also, the guides were pretty flexible and willing to help book additional shows/services.

We had a great trip! We all had fun and have been very happy. We had an excellent experience with China Highlights in 2003 when we did the Yangtze river cruise and we had another cool trip again. Dear China Highlights, I wanted to write and tell you how pleased I am with our recent trip to China. Our group of 8 had a wonderful time and found China to be fascinating, with extremely friendly people. My contact person at China Highlights was Elaine Yang. We 1st communicated over 2 years ago, when I had a trip planned that we had to cancel due to SARS. I decided to rebook with Elaine because of her understanding and professionalism. Any questions and changes I had and made to our itinerary were handled quickly and to my satisfaction. She was also very helpful when one of our travelers left items behind in a hotel and was quick to help retrieve them. As you can see with the attached photo, I was very happy to have met Elaine while we were in Guilin! Our tour arrangements were very satisfactory. The Guangzhou Hotel in Beijing was nice and convenient to Tienanmen Square & the Forbidden Palace. The Bell Tower's location cannot be beat. The Guilin Park in Guilin, Bamboo Grove in Suzhou & the Pacific Luck in Shanghai were also very nice. One thing I wished I had looked into better were the flights into and out of Xi'an. We had a late flight coming in from Beijing and a very early flight leaving Xi'an. That left us only one full day to see the city, which we all thought was a bit hasty.I hope that, if possible, you would take that into consideration when booking future itineraries to that city. On the other hand, we very much enjoyed the rice terraces of Longji. That was something Elaine had suggested and am glad we made the time to see the terraces. It was our favorite sight we saw, after the Great Wall hike. Our guides were in each city were competent, with varying degrees of English fluency. Our favorite guide was Mr. Qi in Guilin. It is very apparent that he understands what travelers need, after 20 years of guiding. Those are my thoughts right now. When I get my photos together, I will send over a link for your viewing. Dear Karen, Everything met our expectations and we had a wonderful time. It was great having a personal guide (Ice was very reliable and helpful). We enjoyed having a full day for both the Longsheng Terraces and for the Lijiang cruise and the raft ride, and not having to rush anything. The illuminated Reed Flute cave and the Fubo Hill Buddha grottoes were unusual and inspiring places. The two extras we bought ¨C the evening folk performance and especially the bamboo raft ride -- added to the fun. The Bravo hotel was very nice and in an excellent location by the lake park, from where it was easy to walk to the night market and restaurants.

1. What was the best thing about your trip? We spent a great time in China. It was our 5th trip in the country and we enjoy it more and more. Visiting the relics was the best thing. 2. What was the worst thing? The food at the places you organize for lunch is UNEDIBLE, not even worth stopping at the restaurants. At 90% of those places we left untouched. In Jiayuguan and Dunhuang your guides could barely speak English, just repeating the basic explanations like tape recorders. They were unable to answer the most basic questions. The guide we had on the second day, although very kind and with a great attitude, had never visited the sights we were going to (she told us it was her first day on the job). She was sent to accompany us to the airport to facilitate our boarding process and she had never been to an airport and had no idea what a boarding pass was. Everything organized by your Dunhuang office was a disaster. The guide in Jiayuguan was too tired to come with us on the visits and remained at the entrance waiting for us. The guide who came with us to Mogao did not tell us there was a museum where the most important caves had been reproduced, or that we could pay an extra ticket to visit more caves. 3. How could China Highlights Travel have assisted you more? The guide in Kashi was like all your guides should be, perfect command of English, attentive, he organized for us and came with us to two splendid dinners. He made our visit to Kashi worthwhile. In most places your guides are just someone coming with the driver, to buy your tickets to the different places you visit and little else. 4. We sometimes receive requests from potential customers or journalists who would like to speak with a previous customer.
